Sebo is built for high school and club track & cross country athletes. We take the privacy of our users seriously — especially minors. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the controls you have over it.
Section 01
Who We Are
Sebo (“Sebo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a GPS-verified workout tracking platform for Track & Cross Country teams. Our platform is accessible at sebo.run and through our mobile applications.
If you have questions about this policy, contact us at privacy@sebo.run.
Section 02
Who This Policy Covers
This policy applies to all users of Sebo’s services, including:
- Athletes — runners who log and track workouts
- Coaches — who assign workouts and manage team rosters
- Parents/Guardians — who have accounts linked to an athlete
Users Under 13: Sebo does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. Athletes under 13 cannot create a Sebo account independently under any circumstance — the account must be initiated and created by a parent or guardian, who provides consent on the athlete’s behalf. If we become aware that a child under 13 has accessed Sebo without a parent-initiated account, we will suspend access and delete the data promptly.

How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in the following circumstances:
Within Your Team
Coaches can view workout completion status, GPS-verified routes, and performance data for athletes on their roster. Parents with linked accounts can view their athlete’s assigned workouts and completion status. Athletes can see team-level leaderboards and milestone celebrations, but not each other’s detailed GPS routes by default.
Service Providers
We use third-party vendors to operate Sebo, including cloud hosting (Supabase), payment processing (Stripe), and analytics. These providers are bound by data processing agreements and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes.
Device Integration Partners
When you connect a Garmin or COROS account, those platforms share workout data with Sebo under their own privacy policies and your authorization. We receive only the workout data you authorize.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose information when required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
Business Transfers
If Sebo is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred. We will notify users before data is subject to a different privacy policy.
Section 06
GPS & Location Data
Location data is used solely to verify workout completion, generate route maps visible to you and your coach, and calculate performance metrics. We do not share precise GPS data with other athletes or third parties beyond your coach and, where applicable, a linked parent account. Location data is not used for advertising.
You can use Sebo’s Self-Reported tier without sharing any location data.
Section 07
Sensitive Health Data
Sebo handles fitness and biometric data with care. Consistent with best practices for youth athletes in distance running, certain data (such as body weight) is handled analytically for coaches and never surfaced directly to the athlete in the app. No health data is shared with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes.
Section 08
Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting privacy@sebo.run. Aggregated, de-identified data may be retained for product improvement purposes.
Section 09

Section 10
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted data transmission (TLS), encrypted data storage, and role-based access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we encourage users to use strong, unique passwords.
Section 11
Third-Party Links & Integrations
Sebo integrates with third-party platforms (Garmin Connect, COROS). When you leave Sebo or interact with these integrations, their own privacy policies apply. We encourage you to review those policies.
Section 12
California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion, and opt out of the “sale” of personal information. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact privacy@sebo.run.
Section 13
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of Sebo after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
Section 14
AI Features & Claude API
Sebo’s conversational AI coaching is powered by the Claude API, provided by Anthropic, PBC. When you engage with a Sebo AI coaching session, a context snapshot containing your training history, season phase, race calendar, and related data is sent to Anthropic’s API to generate a personalized response. Anthropic processes this data as a service provider on Sebo’s behalf and is not permitted to use it for its own purposes.
Sebo’s data is subject to Anthropic’s API data handling terms. Anthropic does not use API input or output to train its models by default. If this changes, Sebo will update this policy and notify users in advance.
AI Restrictions for Minors
Conversational AI coaching is available only to athletes aged 13 and older. For athletes ages 13–17, a verified parent or guardian link is required before AI coaching features activate — the parent link is the authorization act. Athletes under 13 are never exposed to conversational AI at any subscription tier. Certain content categories are permanently blocked for all minors regardless of subscription status: body composition, calorie restriction, supplements, and clinical mental health topics.
Who Claude API Calls Apply To
Claude API calls occur only for Runner Pro subscribers engaging with conversational AI coaching, and for Build and Peak tier coaches using Sebo’s AI-assisted analysis tools. Claude API calls are not made for free-tier athletes, Starter coaches, or parent accounts. No data is submitted to Anthropic’s API except in the context of an active AI session initiated by an eligible subscriber.
Optional Data Sharing to Improve Sebo
Runner Pro subscribers may opt in to share anonymized training data — including workout patterns, compliance trends, and season arc data — to help improve Sebo’s AI coaching models and product experience. This setting is entirely voluntary and can be withdrawn at any time in Settings. No personally identifiable information is included in shared data. For athletes 18 and older, this setting is on by default and can be turned off at any time. For athletes ages 13–17, the setting is off by default and requires a parent or guardian to enable it through the parent account before it can be activated. Athletes under 13 are excluded from this program entirely.
Section 15
AI Transparency Statement — Garmin Connect Integration
This section satisfies the requirements of Section 15.10 of the Garmin Connect Developer License Agreement.
What Sebo’s AI Does
Sebo uses artificial intelligence to provide personalized coaching guidance to athletes. The AI coaching system — available to Runner Pro subscribers — operates across four areas: training analysis, nutrition guidance, wellbeing support, and Character Formation (available in a future release). The AI holds your full season in context: current training phase, race calendar, compliance patterns, personal records, and year-over-year history. Its purpose is to help you understand your training arc, not just your last workout.
AI Modes and Age Restrictions
Conversational AI coaching, where an athlete sends a message and receives a personalized AI response, is available to athletes age 13–17 with an active Runner Pro subscription and a verified parent or guardian link, and to athletes 18 and older with an active Runner Pro subscription independently. Garmin data is submitted to Anthropic’s Claude API only in the context of conversational AI coaching sessions initiated by an eligible Runner Pro subscriber.
Athletes under 13 cannot connect a Garmin account to Sebo. The Garmin device connection flow is blocked entirely for under-13 accounts — no Garmin data is collected, stored, or used in any capacity for athletes in this age group. This restriction applies regardless of parental consent.
What Garmin Data Is Used as AI Input
When you connect your Garmin device to Sebo, the following data received from Garmin Connect may be used as input to Sebo’s AI coaching system:
- Activity data — GPS-tracked workouts including distance, duration, pace, heart rate, elevation, and running dynamics (cadence, ground contact time, vertical oscillation, stride length, vertical ratio). Verification tier (whether an activity was auto-uploaded from your watch or manually created) is used to assess workout compliance.
- Health data — Daily health summaries including resting heart rate, heart rate variability (HRV), estimated sleep duration and quality, stress score, and Body Battery where available. These signals inform the AI’s understanding of your recovery state and training load tolerance.
- GPS route data — Raw GPS tracks from completed activities used to identify route patterns and training environments.
All Garmin data received by Sebo is stored in Sebo’s Supabase-hosted database and is subject to the access controls and protections described in this Privacy Policy.
How Garmin Data Flows into the AI
Sebo uses a hybrid context model. At regular intervals — every 24 hours for free accounts, every 2–4 hours for Runner Pro subscribers — Sebo assembles a pre-built context snapshot that includes your recent training history, health trends, season phase, and any medical flags you or your coach have noted. When you begin an AI coaching session, this snapshot is loaded as the foundation, and any new activity or health data received since the snapshot was built is appended in real time. This combined context is sent to Anthropic’s Claude API to generate your coaching response.
Garmin data is one input among several. Sebo’s AI context also includes coach-assigned workouts, race results, personal records, season goals, and other information you provide directly. The AI uses all of this to reason about your full training arc — not just your Garmin metrics in isolation.
How Garmin Data Is Not Used
Garmin data received through the Garmin Connect API is never used to train AI models. It is used only to generate personalized coaching responses for the individual athlete whose account it belongs to. Sebo does not sell Garmin data to third parties.
Your Consent
By connecting your Garmin account to Sebo, you explicitly consent to Sebo using your Garmin activity and health data as described above to power AI coaching features. This consent is separate from your connection to Garmin Connect itself — Sebo requests it clearly before initiating the OAuth authorization flow, with a plain-language explanation of what each data permission enables.
For athletes ages 13–17, a parent or guardian must complete the account linking process before conversational AI coaching features activate. Completing that link constitutes the parent’s explicit authorization for Garmin data to be used as AI input for their minor athlete. Athletes 18 and older authorize this independently at account setup. Athletes under 13 cannot connect a Garmin account to Sebo under any circumstance — the connection flow is blocked at the account level, and no Garmin data is collected or used for this age group.
Withdrawing Consent
You can withdraw consent for Garmin data to be used by Sebo’s AI at any time through two paths:
- Disconnect your Garmin account — In Settings → Connected Devices, select your Garmin connection and tap Disconnect. This immediately stops all future Garmin data sync to Sebo. Existing AI coaching conversations will persist but will not receive new Garmin data as input.
- Revoke Sebo’s permissions in Garmin Connect — In the Garmin Connect app under Connected Apps, you can revoke Sebo’s access. Sebo will detect this and mark your connection as inactive. We will not attempt to re-sync until you reconnect.
Withdrawing consent does not delete data already received from Garmin. To request deletion of previously synced Garmin data, contact privacy@sebo.run. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Updates to This Statement
This AI Transparency Statement will be updated to reflect changes in how Sebo uses Garmin data with AI systems, changes in applicable law or regulation, and changes in Garmin’s policies that affect our obligations. We will notify users of material changes via in-app notice and email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of AI coaching features after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated statement.
